the new semester starts August 25th, and I have decided that instead of working full time at the university and getting a discount on half-time school, I will continue working part-time and going to school full time.
This next semester I will be taking Painting 1 - intro to oil paints... from Mr Tracy Viser... the same instructor who instructed me through my most recent drawing class that resulted in such favorites as "portrait of a boy" "Lindsay on back" and "Lindsay in ink".
I will also be taking an animation class that I know (from past experience) involves mostly drawing and not a whole lot of computer manipulation of pre-fabbed characters.
I look forward to having more stuff to post.

Fave Bombing: perspective of a repeat offender
Because I got to the end of this rant and realized it was entirely too long, I started to put the ultimate conclusion up here, so no-one would have to read the whole journal entry (like they'd actually read it anyway! ha!) Then I realized I didn't want to finish writing what I'd started, and that the ultimate conclusion summed the whole thing up quite nicely, so I deleted everything else I'd written and here it is for you:
*** Artists should be SO busy:
1) exposing themselves to more art,
2) getting real world experiences,
3) and getting dirty doing ART,
to improve:
1) their perspectives of themselves, their own art, and other peop

so... GROUPS!!!
Badass!
This is REALLY promising because (historically speaking) really GREAT art has been made whenever a small group of artists is interacting with each other regularly and frequently and developing an art concept either with the other artists, or to oppose the other artists. They see what others are doing, they learn why, they realize how it could happen better, or happen differently, or for a different reason. Concepts evolve, art improves, controversy happens, publicity happens... which is kindof the idea, right?
group ideas:
because I'M interested in a couple of specific types of groups, I think it would be a good idea to create some
